On the morning of November 28, the mother of the convict Igor Gershankov arrived in Minsk at the Volodarsky Detention Center in Minsk. The other day, the family had planned to meet him, but yesterday, we learned the execution of another convict in this case. No letter came from the month of Gershankov.

The deputy head of SIZO only reported that Gershankov was no longer there and that he "was gone with things". He refused to answer all the other questions and advised him to go to court.

Later in the regional court of Mogilev confirmed: send the documents on the execution of the sentence. The exact date is still unknown.

Meanwhile, the international human rights organization Amnesty International has already expressed conviction for the execution of another person involved, Seeds Berezhnoy.

"We are shocked to hear this news. A few weeks ago, we traveled to Belarus, where we discussed progress with the authorities in the abolition of the death penalty, "said Mari Strazers, Amnesty International's director Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Recall that from 2009 to 2015, in the region of Mogilev, six people disappeared without a trace. Later, their bodies were found in anonymous graves in rural cemeteries. According to the elements of the case, a group of "black realtors" (four people in total) persuaded people to sell or exchange housing, and then the owners were killed. Some were buried alive while the victims slept under the influence of vodka and clonidine.

Gershankova and Berezhnoy were convicted of six murders and the preparation of another, kidnappings, frauds and other crimes.

In the summer of 2017, the Mogilev Regional Court sentenced the men to death and, for the relatives of those killed, they would claim compensation of about $ 110,000. The defendants appealed the verdict, but in December the Supreme Court left it unchanged.

In court, the men claimed that the testimony was forcibly beaten. In August, Igor Gershankov went on a hunger strike. According to him, his numerous complaints to various authorities did not release him from SIZO.
