The construction of the Russian national station on the moon's orbit should begin with the launch of the "basic module" in 2025, says RIA Novosti, referring to the presentation of the Roadmap for the implementation of the Lunar program. The document was prepared by the general designer of the inhabited complexes Eugene Mikrin.
He had previously presented the concept of near moon station, which can be created from modules developed for the ISS: a nodal with several docking stations, a scientist and a propellant.
Some experts believe that the station near the moon is less interesting than the base on the moon. The reasons lie in the high level of radiation, which is why astronauts can not live there permanently. In addition, in such a station will be little space for scientific experiments.
In early November, it was reported that a long-term visit base had been created on the surface of the Earth's natural satellite as part of the lunar program of Russia. Scientists intend to explore the moon with the help of robotic avatars.
