– At school, I dreamed of programming because it seemed like something progressive and modern. But my father gave the installation – you have a weak mathematical apparatus. That's all. Therefore, I entered the RTI for a network and telecommunications engineer. From programming, we had only the school-level Turbo Pascal, whose merit had been written down on a scrap of paper. Parallel to his studies, he worked on a "Mack" construction site in the early 2000s and started to establish links with operators.

In 2003-2004, the theme of mobile phones began to develop. First sold, then repaired. In 2008, opened his own business. The funds at the start were not particularly important, but it was a crazy motivation. It was a year of crisis. Nobody has money in their hands and those who appeared were immediately converted into dollars. People wore little old button phones. Of course, do not buy the same nine, when you do not know what will happen.

About programmers then mostly did not hear anything. He was completely satisfied with his small studio in the city center. But the work is complicated. You must not only be a teacher, but also a psychotherapist. A man is not just a phone, but life is blowing! Contacts, SMS correspondence with your favorite women – all this is extremely important.

Winning a lot in this area will not work. For example, charging costs 30 cents to buy and sells 5 dollars. Expensive? Accursed cursed speculators? And how much do you need to sell such fees to earn a thousand conditional, and even considering the rent, taxes? You will not sell as much because there are not many people coming. The same with the repair. How many phones need to be repaired to earn the same thousand?

So it turned out that we repaired phones, talked with people, paid taxes, worked 10 to 12 hours a day, the output was at best, it was not profitable to go on vacation. In short, four years later, burnout has occurred. But I had a wife, a small child and a dog. And I'm sitting at work, I'm welding the phone, tired, upset, under constant stress. I think everything is enough. If I do not do something now, in a year, I will also be on the phone. Many I did not want it. The same day, I went to the bookstore of used books and I bought an old book about Java programming. At that time I was 31 years old.

They did not attend clbades, paid for the internship – all this to have peace of mind

– I did not know anything about programming. Damn, yes for me, there was no difference between testers and human resources! But I wanted a normal salary and, above all, stable, so that the soul is calm. I understood that there is a family and that it will be difficult. But if you do not take a step, it will be even more difficult, without hope for the better.

Woman supported! Admittedly, after three or four months of failure, support became a slight pressure. But I thought I would read a book and go to work. When I realized that it was not easy to find a job, I tried to take clbades at a big company in Minsk. There, he first encountered ageism. They kindly hinted, they say, that you do not have basic training for our courses and that, in general, many students are lining up.

Then I found three-month courses and followed them successfully. That's it, now I can definitely go to the developers! But nobody considered me as a specialist at all!

The realization that without professional experience, they did not even want to take me to the junior position, it was difficult. Well, it has become even more learned. Already without work or part-time work. It turns out that my wife was working for me and that I was at home. And it seems that the shop is closed, there is no need to repair the phones, but at home, there is still a child and a dog to watch. And time is a very necessary and very limited resource. Where to get it? I found a way out.

"I completely refused anything that was useless – I stopped watching TV shows, read news, and write comments."

In this mode, lived for six months. All the while, I responded to the vacancies – they did not take them. Sent dozens, even hundreds, resumes. Once called for an interview. I have thought, I will come, we will talk, they will tell me what kind of kind I am and will find a job. But they started to ask about the case. Of course, I immediately drowned. But I had the experience and I understood that it was necessary to prepare for the interviews.

In general, was in despair. A lot of time has pbaded, there are no results, there is no income, savings have been eaten, there is no turning back either. And his wife: "You are a man, you have a child and you read books. You promised! Where is the result? Forward! Morally, it was incredibly difficult, gripped by wild desperation.

In the end, I found a guy who had paid $ 200 to be able to train him. That's where I earned my first money in IT: $ 30! Even framed, like Scrooge McDuck, his first won 10 cents. I was sure that they would bring me luck. True, one day he went home and the frame was empty – the woman spent the money.

But it has become easier. In the summary, I could specify the experience. They did an internship in a very cool office, where I had a culture shock. Free coffee! Cookies! Do you want new headphones? Should the chair be replaced? Please – make a request and the guy brings you everything. Magic!

There were also internships and, in 2014, I finally found a programmer job in a small company specializing in providing accounting services. Almost a year has pbaded since I decided to radically change my life. I was 32 years old.

It is not a sin to stop if there are no good free yogurts in the business.

– I did not last long because I still did not have enough knowledge. But I was already energized and I had confidence in my abilities. So they took me to a Russian company that entered the Belarusian market.

I will never forget the guy who said that it was a very bad employer because for breakfast, yogurt is not as he likes it. I was threatened not to tolerate such an attitude and to leave. And it's gone! Somewhere fresh fruit is brought every day, somewhere there is a complete barista that will prepare you for any coffee. But many take it for granted and the coffee is no longer so delicious. All these rolls still surprise me.

In general, the Russian company is quickly gone and another big company has swallowed me up with a lot of other people, where I work happily till now. At first, it took 12 hours to work. But it was damn interesting! As a game, you get a task, you dive into it, at night a decision comes to your mind and you can not fall asleep, but you want to work.

Salary The specialists of my level are guided by about 3000 dollars. But you know, every programmer has a very small salary! Nobody asks anyone. Honestly, I have never seen a single developer satisfied with the level of income. One transferred almost everything to the account, the other in an apartment and the third in Venice. Everything – the rest is not enough.

This, of course, is irony. The computer salary is very good compared to the whole country and can offer a person a comfortable life.

Recreation in the form of a children's channel on YouTube will earn you an extra salary

– After a few years, I realized that a furious pace could again lead to burnout. Then I found a hobby. Look, on YouTube, some kids are developing "Kinder Surprise" eggs and have millions of views. I think – what, I can not roll an egg? So with my daughter, I started a small children 's channel which, in terms of income, can go to the salary of an average programmer.

Such a hobby that unites the family, provides pleasure and distraction. But I do not believe in YouTube. In one way or another, many children's channels have begun to present a fierce thrash, in the image of pregnant spider-men. The complaints flowed and the service banned mbadively everyone, and even channels with normal content. So, in a minute, you can lose everything. Therefore, no, you do not know what will happen with YouTube and you can still work as a programmer anywhere.

After all, development is a common office job. You just have to be able to read, and it will take time. Do not leave for half a year, but for a year or two, anyone is able to achieve the desired goal.
