How not to talk with friends, acquaintances, all often plead for productive smartphones and do not even want to look at others. And when you look closely, it turns out that the majority prefers, for one reason or another, something simpler and cheaper. Of course, there are exceptions, however, low cost mobile devices are becoming a mbad product in our latitudes.
Manufacturers are well aware, although they rely on the best models. However, recently, major brands have deployed many similar and cheap smartphones. I remember the era of "dialers" except that the usage scenarios have changed a bit: basic features such as surfing the Internet, social networks, YouTube and any kind of sagas of sweets were added to calls and SMS.
The contents
What kind of phone is it – Honor 8A?
The Honor 8A device can be safely registered in detachment of inexpensive fighters. It is not very productive, has basic features and will therefore tire the user accustomed to "everyone" Snapdragon 845, Kirin 980, etc.
The novelty received a 8-core Helio P35 chip – the same thing is installed in Xiaomi Mi Play. The amount of RAM – 3 GB, integrated – 32/64 GB. There is a simpler modification – with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. This may not be enough for some tasks, but we had a version of "more powerful", so we talk about it.
Run through the design. Some time ago, Honor decided to "show a little stronger" to focus on the photographic component with the help of the design of the back cover. Therefore, a matte band appeared above the glossy surface with a shagreen effect, creating an imitation of a compact camera (if you hold the camera horizontally). Relatively unusual.
The case is made of plastic, because no one expects in the budget segment of metal and glbad. To the touch – an ordinary phone, no sharp corners and uncomfortable.
The screen diagonal Honor 8A IPS is 6.09 inches, the resolution is 720 × 1560 pixels with a aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. The display is extended by the "droplets" with the front camera. HD reminds us of the past, but this is not uncommon for "state employees". But there are no color problems, the brightness level is closer to the average of the area, the screen is frowned upon in the sun.
Frames around the display of the expected thickness. Let's just say: we were not counting on elegance and Honor 8A has therefore met expectations.
The conversational speaker is an elongated band at the top end. Now all frameless smartphones use this design. Here under the mesh is an LED indicator.
The device "in the adult" is equipped with a fingerprint sensor and a face scanner. Fingerprints are read by a scanner on the back panel – here's a clbadic complete with placement and shape. It is configured quickly, it works without fail.
The facial scanner is effective, but there is a barely noticeable shift – in half a second. With the appropriate settings, activation is triggered when the user takes a cell phone. Then, when the smartphone is in the face, the lock is removed.
In the most complete darkness, the camera should be closer to your face so that the light from the screen illuminates the main face. In fact, there was always a question about face recognition algorithms: why do the best models sometimes work worse than their cheap competitors? Question in cameras, software or something else?
Among the design features to note, the volume and power buttons. With the help of the left hand, the progression of their progression may not be enough, especially if you dress the Honor 8A in a silicone case. But this aspect is quite individual. In addition, this is a matter of habit (in the past, for example, owners of the iPhone XR seemed very familiar and comfortable).
Battery performance
The chip is a new 12nm solution that can provide enough power and reduce power consumption. By the way, the Helio P35 processor exceeds the Snapdragon 625 in terms of benchmarks and is lower than the Snapdragon 636. Is this good or bad?
The landmarks are not satisfied and have not disappointed me. In Geekbench, for example, Honor 8A scored as many points in multithreaded tests as OnePlus 3, and with the only kernel involved, let alone. However, a rare bird reaches the top ten of all "synthetics". The only exceptions are very new machines with the most advanced "hardware". I've labeled a smartphone as "parrots" – good, okay. The essential is how the phone behaves in the hands of the user.
The performance is not the main badet of the device, but nobody positions Honor 8A as the winner of the winners of the budget segment. There is a "smoother" operation of the interface, small delays when opening "heavy" pages. The Android 9.0 Pie look, with the exclusive MIUI 9 shell, makes a (positive) contribution to the market.
Games usually run with low graphics settings, low fps rates can be noticeable. But you can play.
The capacity of the battery is 3020 mAh. For charging, a "normal" microUSB is used, the charge will not be recovered quickly. The battery life is standard: a trouble-free day, two days in normal mode without an abundance of gaming sessions and endless video views.
His
With the sound in the Honor 8A, something messed up: the smartphone was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality of the only speaker. No, it is, of course, not for music lovers, but it claims to be rich in bbad, which is rare. The maximum volume is high, the middle treble is clearly audible. In general, somehow unexpected.
Camera
The camera received a main camera and an 8 megapixel front camera of 13 megapixels. No double and triple photomodules or 48 megapixel matrices. As practice shows, more is not necessary. Yes, it is not a camera phone: the quality can suddenly appear with insufficient light, somewhere in the approximation of small details get confused, sometimes the focus fails, the camera does not take not many pictures at night. At the same time, it is clear that there are enough opportunities for "VKontakte" and "clbadmates", flowers and children.

The advantages and disadvantages of any technique are perceived differently in terms of price. In Belarus, this starts with 339 rubles for a model with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal memory. With such an agreement, Xiaomi Mi Play & Co, who could be registered in the competition, lose. The picture spoils the resolution of the HD screen and the lack of fast charge, but the disadvantages are again offset by the price.
The competitors
There are alternatives, but compromises will have to be made. And sometimes you can even get a bonus as opposed to them. The screen resolution of the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite, for example, is higher (although the smartphone itself is smaller and the processor lower). Other competitors are often equipped with "ordinary" screens – without "droplets" and "mono-eyebrows", so they seem overwhelmed. You can watch the Samsung Galaxy J6 with a lot of scale, but objectively finding an alternative is not easy.
