Kia today released the first images of the future compact crossover, the world premiere of which is scheduled for this summer.
The first iteration of this car, called the SP Concept, was shown by Koreans more than a year ago in India. In March of this year, the SP Signature SUV debuted at the Seoul Motor Show, as close as possible to the future production model. Technically, it will be an badog of the Hyundai Creta we know, although Kia still does not feature.
But the official press release does not remain on the laudative epithets addressed to the crossover, which "will correspond to the preferences of the millennial generation". The contours of the surfaces, the expressive humeral line, the tapered rear window up to the uprights, the rear bumper mimicking the exhaust pipes – on the sketches, the "SUV" is dynamic, but the car will have certainly a more "prosaic" aspect.
Neither the exact dimensions nor the range of engines have yet been officially announced. The new compact Kia crossover will be available for the first time in Korea, where it will be available to resellers from the second half of 2019. Shortly after, sales are expected to start in other regions. In particular, the company has already confirmed its presence in Russia next year.
