According to the BBC in reference to the Red Cross, in the courtyard of one of the villas of the seaside village of Mati, located at the epicenter of the natural disaster, the body of 26 adults and children were found. The dead, apparently, abandoning their desperate attempts to escape, sat down together and met their death while kissing each other. Their bodies were found a few meters from the sea – apparently, the fire wall did not allow them to reach the water.
