DARPA will develop microbots for emergency assistance

[ad_1]

The Bureau of Advanced Research Projects of the US Department of Defense, DARPA, will develop small robots of one centimeter.

The project was called SHRIMP and, unlike most other DARPA developments, it is envisaged to use civilians. In particular, the company believes that such robots will be irreplaceable at major disaster sites – for example, earthquakes.

Large robots and quadrocopters are not always efficient and a device of several millimeters can be sent.

DARPA will test various materials and solutions to get rid of the current defects of small robots – for example, a small autonomy.
