Employees of the Vitebsk regional inspectorate for the protection of the animal and plant world have arrested a poacher who hunted on the territory of the Berezinsky reserve. The detainees were residents of Dokshyts, where they found a solid arsenal during the search.
"Many cartridges were found, both during the war and fully combat ready – probably a hundred. In addition to the weapons seized in the illegal, another remarkable weapon, also unregistered, has been stored in the house. It was equipped with a home-made silencer, a telescopic sight and a special insert allowing the use of "rifle cartridges", – clarified during the inspection.
As if that were not enough, the poacher also kept the mortar elements at home – the base plate and the barrel. At present, the man is liable to prosecution under two articles of the Criminal Code: for hunting in a specially protected natural area and for acting illegally against firearms and ammunition.
