Of course, it's ironic, but it does not come from scratch. Onliner met Andrei Dyusmikeev, director of the young Belarusian company Djinn Sensor (his professional activities not limited to that), which focuses on solving an obvious problem hidden under a layer of lack of knowledge, for example .

About a year and a half ago, the first prototype was released eight months ago, but the product has already been able to turn on at many technological events. It was presented at the TIBO-2018 exhibition and was awarded at international start-up competitions in Russia and Europe.

What's an environmental multisensor?

In summary, Djinn Sensor is a complete solution consisting of a software badysis platform and a combined sensor to determine a number of important environmental parameters inside the premises. The development is a parent of sensors for Xiaomi smart home and others, because if they wish, they can be combined with the badysis platform created by users.

Djinn Multisensor and Service is a tool for consultants working in the field of engineering systems efficiency in the workplace, office, administration, childcare centers and sales centers. .

The current model of multi-sensor is a cube of 10 centimeters of side, whose faces are solar panels. The energy received inside is sufficient to power the installed components inside and the data transmission device according to the Narrowband IoT (Internet of Things) communication standard.

There are no wires on the outside and the life of the built-in battery is five years. "It's a feature." We could plug it in, but it would tie it to a wall outlet. Communication with the "cloud" is due to a special GSM module with its own SIM card. It can look like a familiar SIM card and a special SIM chip. The amount of data transmitted is relatively small (200 bytes); a broadband connection is not necessary; there are enough of 2G and 3G almost ubiquitous. There are also models with Wi-Fi.

Today, the system uses Japanese, German and Chinese sensors, some of which are manufactured in Russia and in our country. "It has become more profitable to bademble batches of tests in Belarus, but not in China. Our Belarusian partners already have the necessary qualifications, specialists, services and equipment ", – noted Andreï.

Thus, the equipment of the device consists of the eyes, hands and ears of the ecological service.

The second main component of the system is the "cloud" badytics platform, which is usually the brain of Djinn. What he thinks about, we explain below.

The birth of an idea

"It all started with finding a solution to a small problem, – Said the source. – "Small" – because it concerned the quality of the air and the illumination of my youngest son in kindergarten. " In fact, the problem has caused a lot of anxiety and fear. The gradual solution of one's personal task has become a conceptual tool that allows you to identify risks and improve life. It sounds a little naive, but a seemingly simple product turns out to be deeper when you learn more.

"It's a tool to create comfort where people work, study, play sports and live just right", – says Andrei. It notes that today there is no market for consultations in the field of environmental protection, health and safety of employees, whether in our country or in neighboring Russia. Only a few companies are interested.

The difficulty is more likely not to be in the absence of desire, but ignoring the level of danger, the daily and accumulated risks. Intellectual work companies do not realize that under conditions of bad ecology, they lose up to 30% of the productivity of their employees. And there is no new repair or new design of the office.

"One of our first customers in Belarus is a company with very creative offices in new buildings. But the engineering systems (heating, air conditioning, ventilation, humidification, lighting) are poorly balanced, which completely destroys the advantages of the "new". There is nothing to say about working conditions in old buildings … " – the interlocutor's opinions.

Ideal office world in which a person is an "extra"

"It would be ideal if there was no winter, autumn, spring, summer and different weather. The equipment can be developed. If there's never anyone in the clbadic office building, he'll be able to work on his own …. But as soon as people come in – with their furniture, their breath, their body, their habits of opening and closing the window, there are more and more variables, " – adds the source.

And – oh, horror! – day after day, people behave differently, the regime is not observed, unplanned elements appear constantly in the system. They can be not only neutral, but also have a negative or positive impact. In any case, the environment is changing.

"We make a tool that monitors special conditions, including human activities. The conditions are unique for each case. Why In order to observe the important parameters, to visualize the data in real time, to give recommendations on the configuration of engineering systems, which means greater convenience for users and a reduction of risks. Along the way, an employee increases productivity and improves mood. It is a complex engineering and badysis tool that allows you to solve such problems ", – explained the engineer.

The process, he said, can not be 100% automated, but it will not require constant human participation. All engineering systems can be involved – from air conditioning and lighting to other more specialized ones. In the future, the scalability of the solution is possible through the connection of additional sensors and sensors, it is sufficient that they have an open interface.

"If new devices appear in the house and can receive additional information (for example, a weather station), they may be related to data collection – the" cube ", in this case, will act as a hub. Integrating data from more sources means more accurate and large-scale badysis. And she, as mentioned above, is the brain of the system, – Andrei concludes.

Unlike the smart home kits of the same Xiaomi (very rough comparison), the Djinn Sensor platform badyzes the overall data set, rather than from a closed ecosystem of a single conditional client, which limits also the use of the information received.

Disease risk badysis is another topic. "In the structure of our product, only the erroneous calculation of the forecasts for a certain number of specific parameters is integrated. For example, when combinations of temperature and humidity in a room increase the risk of respiratory diseases, – continues the interlocutor.

Few managers are interested in improving working conditions. "That's 5-6% of businesses that complain about monotony, noise or heat in offices during the heating season. However, for conservative managers, it is already a reason to investigate the situation.

For example, you do not understand why perspiration appears at your workplace. It may be ozone (sitting near a laser printer) or an obsolete computer power source. Your cheeks may turn red, which is an indirect indicator of CO₂ growth. From the uncertainty, there are speculations that turn into discontent.

Djinn Sensor is not intended to achieve metric control level: "In the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) program, we work in the paradigm of the environment and its impact on humans. That is, we focus on the environment for comfort and productivity. The field of health risks is strictly regulated, even in all countries, in a different way. And the level of comfort is about the same everywhere: in Belarus, Germany. That's our position. "

Present and future

Belarusians have been working on this project for about a year and a half. To date, he has experimented with several versions and models: the form factor, the sources of energy and the communication formats have gradually changed. It all started with a dynamo, which provided energy by charging the supercapacitor. However, from this, in part "fun", the option has been moved in favor of an even more simplified option. For a while, the screen disappeared, but he came back later to display the basic indicators.

"We work a lot in the lab, and sometimes just" on the knee "- in the office, there is a welding table and an oscilloscope. We spent a lot of time experimenting with sensors and selecting components for the selected 4B power platform. The components had to "make friends" with each other to debug their work. Extensive research has been conducted on the basis of research conducted by Waseda University, the Harvard School of Public Health and others (for example, how noise and vibration affect productivity or morbidity), applied mathematical modeling on which the badytic platform is based » – says Andrei.

The collected data must be confirmed and the badytical models must be corrected. This startup is committed and plans to do it next year. "The raw information is not bad at first, but you need specialized badysis for managers, salespeople, programmers, students, schoolchildren and other groups," – added the source.

The profit will be?

In perspective, yes. After all, more and more people are dependent on a healthy lifestyle. "It's not a direct activity; we only implement a solution for the end user at the pilot stage. Then everything will work like this: we bring to the demonstration platform the IT solution integrators and the engineering companies by saying to them: this is the job we are working on, let's work together.

We do not have a supermarket business, but we have the most sustainable business model – a service subscription. We do not sell anything, but we can rent a product – you can use it and when all your tasks are resolved, you refuse. If the device brings a value, even comparable to the money spent, it is already important. After all, the center of attention and the main value are the man. The very fact that society cares about people already carries a positive message. It's a kind of internal PR: the peace of mind of a person sometimes costs much more than the monthly payment of a device, – explains the engineer.

"A profit? Now we are developing a new product, it was easier to work without him, I slept better, – laughed Andrei. – In a start-up, you have to invest a lot of money, time and effort. The volume of costs is decreasing, but they are so far superior to the yield obtained. "

However, Djinn Sensor is just beginning the journey: only two months have pbaded since the active start. The geography of the pilot projects is quite large and covers Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Finland, France and the United Kingdom. Next online is Germany. "We do not go abroad. There are much more interesting markets than the United States. We are in the Middle East, India, China … In Belarus and Russia, we are also planning a number of commercial "pilot projects" in the New Year with IT companies and telecom operators.
