Lesik Fox was the talisman of the second European Games which will take place from June 21 to 30 in Minsk.

In the management of the European Games spoke of the legend of the talisman.

"We all remember the story of the Little Prince who flew to the planet HEarth and make friends. Among his friends, there was a little fox, who spoke to the little prince about friendship and taught him to be really friends. The little prince flew to his rose on his little planet, but the little fox remained. His biggest dream was to make friends. After the Little Prince left planet Earth, the fox was depressed. All his thoughts were on how to find friends. He sniffed and listened, that gave him bigger ears. He explored the neighborhood looking for an answer to the question "how to make friends with him?". And once, thanks to his big ears and powerful legs, he learned that somewhere in Belarus there is a flower that satisfies all desires. This is the legendary Belarusian paparats-kvetka. The fox went to Belarus to find paparats-kvetku and realize his dream. His path was not long: he had to make a million steps, we can be sure by seeing his fitness bracelet.

The inscription on the visor Lesika indicates that the year 2019 will be the most brilliant year of his life and sports life in Europe. Green t-shirt talisman denotes development and harmony, and black shorts – discipline and determination. Ffur coat talks about his good mood, blue shoes bear witness about the invincibility of our character, and the red reflects his energy! "- says the press release of the management.

The management of the 2nd Foundation of the 2019 European Games has invited the talisman to be presented to the children of children's institutions, the Belarusian Association for Assistance to Handicapped Children and Young People with Disabilities and the Istoki Children's Source. as well as athletes, media representatives and Games partners. .

The results of a public competition for the development of mascot II European Games 2019 have been announced. The winners are: Irina Bratchuk (Second School No. 2, Brest); Alla Antiperovich and Elena Mosalova (Public Education Institution of the Minsk City Center of Education and Health; Kristina Yermashevich and Anna Minina (Center of Athletics in Minsk). They were rewarded by the Deputy Prime Minister of Information of Belarus, Pavel Light Competition, the best work of the jury, it was decided to note.

– The talisman presented today is the development of a Belarusian designer commissioned by the Directorate of the IInd European Games. According to us, Lesik the Little Fox will fit perfectly into the overall concept of a major sports festival to be held next summer, said the deputy director of the Foundation for the 2nd European Games in 2019 . Anatoly Kotov. – Already next spring, when the snow melts, we will go out with good activities involving the talisman. Of course, the highlight will be at the opening ceremony and, of course, at the Games themselves. Let this character bring his spark to this long-awaited event! And we want the little fox to find friends not only in Belarus, but around the world.

– We can only say one thing about the talisman: "Great!", – the representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Belarus shared his impressions after the presentation ceremony. One of the colors of our organization is the same as that of Lesika. So I think our relationship with the Games will become even stronger. I have no doubt that children will love the talisman, which means that with the help of a young, playful fox, the event that he symbolized will remain in the memories.

Rashed Mustafa Sarvar then announced a new children's drawing contest, whose main character will of course be Lesik.

Famous Belarusian artists, participants in the songwriting competition for the opening and closing ceremonies of the second 2019 European Games – Litesound and Aura groups, as well as the representative of Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, Daniel Yastremsky, played at the ceremony.
