The official reception was held in the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on the occasion of the Independence Day of Belarus. Representatives of the Government and Iraqi business circles, ambbadadors of Japan, Singapore, China, Iran, Syria, Bulgaria, Slovenia and other countries, representatives of US and Russian diplomatic missions attended the reception.
"Last year, Belarus was visited by 5.8 thousand inhabitants of Iraq. One week, during which my compatriots get acquainted with Minsk, Dudutki, Mir and Nesvizh, and especially they receive in Belarus what is so lacking in Iraq: the calm.I will particularly point out that out of the 5.8 thousand Iraqis who visited Belarus, no one violated the law, was not fined or brought to the police, "said Majid Al-Qaysi. In a week, about 100 Iraqi doctors will arrive in Minsk, who will become acquainted with the achievements of Belarusian medicine and learn from the experience. Plans are to extend the training program for Iraqi students in Belarusian universities.
