Half of Russians have had trouble naming the meaning of Easter

Another 32% of respondents found it difficult to answer the question about the meaning of the celebration. Six percent of Russians talked about the birthday of Christ at Easter. Four percent of respondents believe that Easter is "just a big Christian holiday" or a day of commemoration of the dead. Three percent called Easter "the end of fasting".

The survey was conducted on April 24, 2019 by telephone interview on the entire Russian territory with a volume of 1600 respondents. The error for this example does not exceed 2.5%.

This year, Easter falls on April 28th.
