Intel has not changed plans for the development of 5G-modems because of Apple

The Intel company responded to the information of the Israeli edition of CTech, according to which Apple reportedly refused the 5G-modems for the future iPhone. It has been alleged that this forced Intel to stop the development of this component. The company denied the statements of Israeli journalists, and CTech, in turn, corrected the published documents.

Intel representatives told the VentureBeat resource that no changes have been made to 5G modem development plans. The same goes for the list of business partners and customers interested in the communication components.

According to the updated data, Sunny Peak is not a hybrid device combining 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, but a chip with only Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support. And yes, indeed, to use it in future smartphones Apple will not – the mention of 5G was in the message superfluous.
