Martial law is being introduced in Ukraine

The President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, signed a decree on the introduction of martial law in the country on the basis of a decision of the National Security Council and the defense of the # 39; Ukraine. This document has been approved by the Verkhovna Rada. The situation will be valid from 28 November to 28 December 2018 in areas bordering Russia and Transnistria.

The secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Alexander Turchinov, is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the decision of the National Security and Defense Council, promulgated by decree.

The National Security and Defense Committee of the Verkhovna Rada unanimously recommended the Parliament to support the bill that approves the presidential decree on the introduction of martial law in Ukraine. According to this provision, the constitutional rights and freedoms of Ukrainian citizens, set out in articles 30 to 34, 38, 39, 41 to 44 and 53 of the country's constitution, will be temporarily limited.

This decision was taken after the Russo-Ukrainian conflict in the Kerch Strait, which occurred yesterday. Russia has accused three Ukrainian ships in violation of the border off Crimea. Peter Tsigikal, head of the Border Service of Ukraine, said the border guards are planning to move to a reinforced regime of border guards because of Russia's aggression in the sea of ​​39, ; Azov. He also proposed to limit entry into Ukraine for certain categories of Russians.

– I propose to some citizens of the Russian Federation to limit entry into the territory of Ukraine, – said Cigikal.

According to the head of the state border service, there will be no restrictions for Ukrainians at checkpoints.

In turn, President Petro Poroshenko said that he supported such an initiative.

– Act within the limits of your authority, as president, as supreme commander, I am ready to support all your initiatives, – said Poroshenko.
