Today, at the metro station "Kupalovskaya" there was a Wi-Fi access point from the provider "Business Network". In the future, the network will expand to "Oktyabrskaya" and other stations, but for the moment free Internet catches only in the station of the red branch.
The registration in the network does not differ from others: we enter the phone number, the SMS comes with a code, confirmation – and it is ready.
Up to here the network is clearly free: the speed was very correct for a public point of access. Measured via Speedtest, inbound traffic was about 45 Mbps, coming in at around 30-40 Mbps and sometimes exceeding 70 Mbps.
It was previously reported that about 100 people can simultaneously use the network. It is expected that the Wi-Fi is "transparent": the pbadage from one router to the other will be automatic and invisible.
And at the II European Games, which will take place next summer, Wi-Fi will appear in subway tunnels.
