South Korean authorities are investigating a case of industrial espionage. Nine people are suspected – employees of Toptec Co Ltd. Presumably, the leader of this company, along with eight of his other employees, are involved in the sale of a flexible display technology company owned by Samsung to Chinese company.

The group is suspected of creating a dummy company that has received technical documentation from Samsung Display, a subsidiary of Samsung. The information was then sold to China for 15.5 billion won (about 13.85 million US dollars), writes Reuters.

Toptec, a company specializing in equipment for the automated release of screen panels for mobile devices, denies any involvement in this incident. They also declared themselves ready to cooperate with the authorities and to contribute fully to the search for the truth. The shares of Toptec against the news collapsed by 20%.

The Samsung screen, meanwhile, intends to strengthen security to prevent leaks. It should be noted that the development of the technology took about six years and about 130 million dollars.
