Scientists have tested the transfer of "digital" odors

Scientists from Malaysia conducted an experiment on odor transfer in "electronic" form. The experiment involved 31 volunteers who had been injected into the nasal electrodes to "connect" to the neurons responsible for the perception of odors. A weak discharge of current was transmitted through them, which led to the appearance of virtual odors.

The experimenters selected 10 pleasant smells that they tried to convey to the subjects. Unfortunately, they could not control the type of odor that would feel the subject tested.

Scientists believe that electrodes could be used when communicating over the Internet. For example, friends who have gone to nature can talk about the rest, transmitting the smell of the kebab. Certainly, not all users agree to install electrical devices in his nostrils.
