Despite the fact that the price of gasoline is steadily increasing in the country, the cost of traveling on public transport remains stable. This year, there has not been a single price increase for coupons and tokens. Although at the end of last year, they had promised to increase the coupon price to 65 kopecks and a token to 70 kopecks by 2018. There was talk of a price increase in July, but remained at the level of conversations. And again, our readers began to wonder what would happen to travel prices.
On Friday, Onliner went to the relevant departments and asked a question about the promotion. In "Minsktrans" it was replied that until now, no document regarding the increase of the ticket price had been found.
– Tariffs are regulated by the Ministry of Antimonopoly Policy. We will receive a document, we will execute it, – noted to the company. – This year the rates were never increased, although we applied for an increase in July, but we were denied. Now, what decision will be made is unknown. We have provided our data, expenses, revenues. A decision is made – it means that they accept it, no – it means no.
– This question is not resolved by MART: public transport fares are governed by Decree No. 72 by the local authorities, that is to say, the executive committees, – noted in the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade. – MART is one of the government agencies that coordinates these decisions.
If the Ministry has accepted, for example, the decision of the Executive Committee of the city of Minsk to raise tariffs, in the absence of information.
The Executive Committee of the city of Minsk has not yet confirmed the information regarding the decision to increase the costs of travel on public transport.
Recall that in mid-December 2017, the head of the senior financial department, Alexey Afanasyev, had declared that from July 2018, it was planned to increase public transport prices by 5 kopecks (up to 65 kopecks per ticket and 70 kopecks per chip). But this problem has not been solved and prices have remained at the same level.
Last fare went up last November. Then, the coupon price rose to 60 kopecks and the chip to 65 kopecks.
Update
On Tuesday, November 27, the new chairman of the executive committee of the city of Minsk, Anatoly Sivak, commented on rumors about rising prices of public transport in Minsk.
– We will consider this issue at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the city of Minsk, it is necessary to study the validity of such a step, – quoted the words of the official agency "Minsk-News".
