The head of the EAA explained why the Americans had not signed for a long time the contract of the match between Europe and the United States in Minsk.

Sergey Kovalchuk stressed that holding a meeting of matches of this level is an important and responsible issue for Belarus.

– I am convinced that these competitions will attract a lot of attention from fans and connoisseurs of athletics and sports in general. By combining the efforts of state bodies and public organizations, we will hold a match meeting at the highest level, said the minister.

Hansen also expressed the hope that such matches will be held every two years:

– The next meeting is going to take the Americans. It is possible that in 2023, the strongest athletes from the United States and Europe will end up in Minsk.

– Someone will be able to be part of the European team itself, but if some guys are not enough, I think they'll meet. Certainly, the position of the European Association is difficult: to participate in such competitions, athletes must have an appropriate level of results.
