With the approval of the nomination of the head coach of the national team, which has already been reported, members of the executive committee of the FBB have approved the candidacy of the new coach of the young people (U-20) from Belarus. Yuri Faykov in this position will be replaced by 42-year-old Dmitry Kravchenko, until recently headed the Dynamo youth movement .

Dmitry Kravchenko was born on December 5, 1975 in Novokuznetsk (Russia). Due to a serious injury, the player career was interrupted early. He played in the Russian "Shakhtar" (Prokopyevsk) and Grodno "Neman."

Dmitry Kravchenko was in Belarus at the age of 16 years. In the early 90's he came to Novokuznetsk Grodno for his first coach Alexander Churabaev. Kravchenko lost his playing career in 1996, when he suffered a serious shoulder injury and did not fully recover. Even several serious operations did not help.

A former player was invited to become a coach in the Grodno Hockey School. The young mentor began to answer for children born in 1989-1990, and among his first pupils were Oleg Goroshko, Vladimir Mikhailov, Artem Kisly and Mikhail Stefanovich, well-known Belarusian players.

After five years of working with children, Kravchenko received a proposal from Gomel. On four occasions (in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007), he brought "Gomel-2" to the gold of the top league, and once (in 2005), his team won bronze medals.

The adult level was led by Grodno's "Niemen" and the young "Dynamo", in the role of badistant, was involved in the work at the "Dynamo" (Minsk) headquarters in the KHL. As head coach in 2013, he brought "Neman" to the country's champion title, twice more he won the silver. He worked at the headquarters of the Junior National Team (U-18) as badistant head coach (World Cup 2004, World Cup 2011).

As the National Youth Team of Belarus lost its residence permit in the elite division at the last world championship.
