The newcomer of the Belarusian National Biathlon Team, Irina Kruchinkina, who has already played for the Russian team, took second place in the sprint at the start of the IBU Cup in Idre, Sweden.

Kruchinkina crossed the two borders without the slightest mistake (0 + 0) and gave Sweden's Ingele Andersson (0 + 0) eight seconds. Third place went to Russia's Anastasia Morozova (1 + 0), who lost 32 seconds to the winner.

Irina Kruchinkina commented on his performance at the first stage of the IBU Cup.

– I was initially listening to a good result. Despite the fact that the weather conditions are not very good, the wind is present, everything worked for me. The service worked well, I note a good glide of skis – the press service of the ESB quotes the athlete.

Another former Russian woman, Inna Kostyuchenko, took part in the race, but her race failed. With 5 (3 + 2) failures, the former skier became the 57th (+3.41).

On the men's side, the victory was celebrated by the Russian Anton Babikov (0 + 0). Victor Krivko (1 + 1, +1.27) became the 19th, Dmitry Lazovsky (0 + 3, +1.50) – 26th.

Nikita Lobastov and Elena Kruchinkina did not participate in the race due to documentation problems.

Then the biathletes will start sprints again and then the pursuit race.

The World Cup begins this Sunday. That day, a mixed relay and supermixst will take place in Pokljuka.
