Three to six years in prison. The court sentenced Alexander Knyrovich and his colleagues

On Wednesday, July 4, a verdict was returned to businessman Alexander Knyrovich and his colleagues from SarmatTermo-Engineering in the Frunzenski district court in Minsk

The co-founder and director of SarmatTermo-Engineering LLC Alexander Knyrovich the court sentenced to six years imprisonment in a prison colony with confiscation of property and a ban on holding administrative posts for 5 years. The deputy director of the economy Igor Maximov received four years of confiscation and a ban of 5 years, chief economist Andrei Kuskov – 3 years and ban on s & 39 to engage in business, deputy director of sales Yevgeny Popovsky – 4 years of imprisonment

All terms correspond to what the prosecutor had requested.

Reminder m Alexander Knyrovich and four of his colleagues were arrested in January 2017. The process began on April 18. Another co-founder, former director of SarmatTermo-Engineering Vladimir Dashkevich will be tried separately because of health problems.

Knyrovich was accused of large-scale tax evasion and corruption, Popovsky – in bribes, Maksimov and Kuskov – by aiding and encouraging taxes. Maksimov and Kuskov confessed their guilt completely, Knyrovich and Popovsky partially

Prosecutor Oksana Dudko asked to name the defendants from 3 to 6 years of imprisonment. Attenuating circumstances were recognized as positive features, the presence of children Kuskov and Popovski. Repentance of Maximov and Popovsky, and Knyrovich – partial compensation of damages (about 680 thousand rubles). Aggravating is the particularly important amount of mercenary damage and motives.

The court found that employees of SarmatTermo-Engineering had underpaid 3.374 million rubles to cash. For this, the tax base has been underestimated through the intermediate STI-Trading company established in Russia, intended for the mother of Alexander Knyrovich. Transactions between companies DFR KGC announced alleged. The figures insisted: raw materials and products from / to Russia have been delivered in reality.

In addition, businessmen were found guilty of bribing public service and energy employees for holding these exchanges. Here, the figures rise to 5 thousand, thousand, 10 thousand rubles and a bottle of cognac.

The public prosecutor notes that Knyrovich does not hide: he knows the transfer of bribes, even if he claimed not to plunge into it. But at the trial, he "played down his role".

It was mentioned that in 2008, the KFG DFR filed a criminal case against Knyrovich and other citizens under Part 2 of the art. 243 of the Criminal Code (evasion of payment of taxes, expenses of a particularly large amount). But the production was completed "on grounds of non-rehabilitation" on the basis of Part 2 of the art. 30 of the Code of Criminal Procedure ("End of proceedings with release of liability in case of loss of an act or public danger"). It is a question of the time when Knyrovitch did not work in the company "SarmatTermo-Engineering". The accused Popovsky also had a conviction, but was reimbursed.

Two engineers from Brestzhilstroy had already been convicted. They were found guilty of taking bribes from representatives of the company "SarmatTermo-Engineering" for at least 10,500 rubles. Result: 4 and 3 years of imprisonment. At the same time, the alleged bribers avoided punishment because they had themselves declared a crime to the KGB.
