Trump wants to tax the iPhone

Donald Trump proposes to introduce a tax on products imported from China. A large amount of electronics can fall into the distribution, including laptops and smartphones. This statement was made by the President of the United States in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Trump is sure that people will easily survive the 10% rise in the price of the iPhone – the cost increase is not so critical as to refuse to buy a gadget.

The US leader plans to introduce a January 1 tax. He also indicated that he would probably not abandon a gradual increase in customs duties and that he had not yet decided the exact figure: the tax could reach 25%. Everything will depend on the G20 summit negotiations.

The iPhone and most of the other Apple products are manufactured in Chinese factories.
