Two men known as criminal authorities were arrested in the district of Logoisk. They are suspected of a series of extortions, reports the press service of the Ministry of the Interior.
According to GUBOPiK, unemployed and already convicted men (a 48-year-old man, the other 38-year-old man) have a reputation for criminal authority and close links with representatives of the "criminal world of the Republic"
"Under the pretext of not fulfilling the existing but more often invented obligations, they intimidated, threatened and beat the victims. For people to prefer to part with money, "convincing arguments" were used – a knife, a hammer, an ax, "said the department.
Suspicious people demanded different amounts: from 120 to 500 rubles. The victims were often residents of the Logoisk district with a criminal record.
The men were arrested, a criminal case was opened under Part 2 of the art. 208 of the Criminal Code (extortion). For this threat of 3 to 10 years in prison.
The Ministry of the Interior does not exclude that the victims may be even more numerous, because many of them began to submit their application with a statement only after detaining the suspects.
