On the beginning of the inventory of goods in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which is carried out by employees of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, reports Wednesday the Ukrainian portal "Country.ua" referring to servants of the monastery. The information is confirmed by "Vesti Ukraine" with reference to the monks.

According to the interlocutors, "some officials" went to Lavra territory around 18:00, who said that the Ministry of Culture had ordered them to carry out an inventory. Later, it turned out that the property inventory was made by representatives of the Kiev-Pechersk Reserve, managed by the Ukrainian Ministry of Culture. The inventory was made in the nearest caves or Anthony – a complex of underground caves in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, where relics relics of Pechersk devotees rest.

The report on the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (MP UOC) indicates that representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine carry out checks on the church's property and the sanctuaries transferred to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra since 1988 – since the opening of the monastery after the restoration.

The UOC-MC emphasizes that the procedure of verification of the availability of values, the vicar of the monastery, Metropolitan of Vyshgorod and Chernobyl Pavel, was discussed with members of the commission of the Ministry of Culture. The work of the commission is conducted under the supervision of monks, cave keepers and members of the monastery's spiritual cathedral, the report says. This test is carried out for the first time in 30 years of history of the new life of the Kievo-Pechersk Lavra.

Last week, the UOC MP warned that the Ministry of Culture had created a commission to inventory the badets of the Ukrainian church. The UOC MP then expressed his fear that this would be done to "seize the badets of the UOC religious communities in favor of the schismatics". The report points out that the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate (UOC-KP) has repeatedly stated publicly that he claims to be the main sanctuary of the Orthodox people – the Kiev-Pechersk and Pochaev Lavra . On Wednesday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine restored the buildings of the Pochaev Lavra to the Kremenets-Pochaev reserve.

The events unfold in the context of the decision to grant the autocephaly of the Ukrainian Church. The corresponding decision was taken by the Patriarchate of Constantinople on October 11th. In response, the Russian Orthodox Church broke the Eucharistic Communion with Constantinople and the UOC deputy refused to join the Ukrainian Autocephalous Church.
