On the eve of the opening of the Shanghai Motor Show, Volkswagen declbadified its new show car, prepared for the show in the Chinese metropolis. It is a concept identifier. Roomzz, whose serial version should appear in 2021.
Recall that in the near future, the German automotive giant will market a whole series of electric models under the ID sub-brand on the original modular platform – it s calls SEM. Id. Roomzz is the sixth concept in the I.D. family, highlighting the look of the flagship crossover of Volkswagen's "electric" division. As the developers say, it is based on the new version of the 2965 mm wheelbase MEB architecture, 192 mm more than the younger I.D. Crozz, a more spacious version whose identification is in fact. Roomzz.
In length, the concept of Shanghai reaches 4915 mm, its width is 1890 mm and, inside, according to Volkswagen, there is more space than the Touareg. Traditional mirrors replace the "ears" of side video cameras, and access to the living room facilitates a wide door with no central pillar and doors moving in different directions. And although the concept has four separate seats, the series car, as promised in Volkswagen, will feature three rows of seats.
The electric car is equipped with an autopilot with a fourth level of autonomy, which will not appear immediately on the series machines. Two laser scanners are installed on the roof, as well as radars, ultrasonic sensors and video cameras. Among the other "chips" – a digital badpit with a 13.8-inch screen and a projection screen that displays an image of "augmented reality" on the windshield.
The technical fill is identical to ID. Crozz are two electric motors, on the front axle and at the rear. Their total power is 306 horsepower, and a simple battery charge of 83 kWh below the floor should suffice for a distance of 450 km. This is not in the NEDC standby cycle, but in a more realistic WLTP technique.
It takes about half an hour to recharge the battery at 80% of the "fast" terminal of 150 kilowatts. The crossing can reach 100 km / h in 6.6 seconds. The maximum speed declared is 180 km / h.
In the ID of the car in series. Roomzz is expected to turn into 2021 – it will be a seven-seat "SUV" designed to support the Tesla Model X on the market.
