What does the Noah's Ark look like in real size (photo)

Dutch designer Johan Heybers has built a full-size Noah's Ark and is now planning to ship it to Israel.

One of the main obstacles to such a trip is the absence of an engine from the ark, so you have to hire tugs. They will cost at least $ 1.3 million.

The huge arch weighs about 2500 tons. Its length is 133.5 meters and its width is 22.25 meters. On the construction of the ship has already spent $ 1.6 million.

Heybers is a businessman who made his fortune in warehouses. The idea of ​​building a Noah's Ark came to him in 1993, when he read this story from the Bible to his children. Heybers' wife working in the police then laughed and said that they would prefer to go on vacation to the moon.

However, Heybers began construction and completed the first version of the arch after 13 years. The businessman was disappointed because the ship was half the size of the one described in the Bible. He sold the ark and in 2008 started to build another one.

Inspired by the example of the discouraged Johan, others joined him amateur carpenters including a local butcher, hairdresser and teacher. The builders admit that not everything has been done well because they are not professionals. For the same reason, tourists are not allowed to enter the arch – Heybers has not been able to meet all safety standards.

However, the arch was insured and equipped with fire extinguishers. Now the ship is waiting for a big trip by sea.
