What will change and how will Belarusians change on the Ukrainian border? The border guards service of Ukraine speaks nuances

[ad_1]

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to impose martial law on November 28 in the border regions of Russia and Transnistria. And that means that, until January next year, martial law will now be applied in the Chernihiv region, on the border with Belarus. What this means for Belarusian citizens, has learned Onliner at the border service of Ukraine.

– In the Chernihiv region, there are several checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Belarussian border. These are "Senkovka" from us ("Veselovka" from Belarus), "New Yarilovich" ("Novaya Guta") and "Slavutych" ("Komarin"). In this regard, border guards reinforced additional checks at checkpoints. This concerns in particular foreign citizens, but especially the citizens of the Russian Federation. The inspections will be thorough, each will be approached individually, the number of border patrols will be increased, checkpoints will be reinforced by additional units to organize law and order during martial law.

– How will they control the strangers then?

– Movements in the interior of the country are already within the competence of the forces of the order, the police and the National Guard. In general, these are controls on key roads of national and international importance. In simple terms, these are roadblocks in which any citizen traveling to the territory where martial law is declared can verify the documents, inspect them, and so on.

There are no additional restrictions on the right of free movement. At least for today.

There are many Russian citizens in Belarus who live permanently in Belarus. How will they cross the border?

– We do not divide into certain categories of Russian citizens. He lives in Belarus, Latvia and Georgia – he is a citizen of the Russian Federation. Today, he has a residence permit, but tomorrow he does not have one – he is still a citizen of the Russian Federation. Certain parameters will be applied to citizens of the Russian Federation for pbadport control at the border of Ukraine, both at border crossing points and at air crossing points.

In the other checkpoints, in the same region of Volyn or Zhytomyr, will something change?

– In any case, the border service is now maintained in reinforced mode on the other side of the border. But there is no significant change in the order of crossing the state border, whether it is Ukrainian or Belarussian nationality. It's just that the control of Ukraine is increasing. Both on the "green" part of the border and on the "red".

Is the increase in queues at checkpoints in the Chernihiv region planned?

"We are repairing the movement of" Euroblathers "(protesting against the new car clearance law – Approx Onliner), which block the movement in front of the crossing points. They create some problems when transporting people to checkpoints, which affects access control. As soon as the blocking of control points is deleted, there are no more queues. But this question does not apply to private cars, citizens crossing the border do not ask questions.
