Half a year has not elapsed since the publication of our previous guide to the Internet "at home" in Belarus, as it turned out that it was time to rework. In a few months, some suppliers have increased prices, others have added new offers to the tariff line, others have completely changed the approach to the provision of services. For some, however, everything stays as before. Well, the more interesting it will be to compare fundamentally different rates.

Comparison method
As before, we compared the offers of suppliers such as byfly, MTS, velcom, COSMOS Telecom or Unet.by. In choosing them, they focused on the discussion activity in the appropriate branches of the Onliner.by forum. Only services provided via Ethernet, xPon, DOCSIS, etc. have been taken into account We believe that bids lower than 20 Mbps in the era of modern traffic are irrelevant and have therefore divided all tariffs into three categories: from 20 to 30 Mbps, from 40 to 60 Mbit / s and greater than 80 Mbit / s.
We are still convinced that suppliers of "buns" and "gifts" in the form of television, antivirus, video surveillance and other parental controls are nothing more than the imposition of additional services and marketing. In the presence of the Internet fast all other issues that the user is able to shut down independently. Certainly, a major supplier has confused all the cards, which made us doubt the correctness of the path we have chosen.
Speech on the MTS, which deleted "Home Connect" and introduced only two tariffs – X5 and X6. Both offer a speed of at least 100 Mbit / s with the ability to double at night. It turns out that the two proposals only concern the last selection of the most expensive tariff plans. However, their value is more likely to refer to the middle segment. Yes, and among the additional services for some time, there was helpful. In general, MTS violated the harmonious system, but did it benefit subscribers? Understand.
Cheaper, but already fast. From 20 to 30 Mbit / s
Thus, since we compare service providers for the speed of service delivery under different tariff plans, MTS with its new line has automatically dropped the first and second categories. Other companies, on the contrary, have increased their presence here.
byfly. The Beltelecom provider is just one of those who have not changed anything. Since he was 25 Mb / s for 20 rubles, he stays. No badumptions, asterisks and footnotes – what they've bought, they have. Remember, the speed is twice as low, and the average cost of 1 Mbit / s is 80 kopecks. This is one of the most profitable offers in this category, but because of Unet.by, the company has again lost its leadership.
velcom. At the former "Atlant Telecom" for six months, the tariff plan of 30 Mb / s has disappeared somewhere. But there are only two at 20 Mbps. Is it strange? The fact is that at the "Home 20" rate a charge is offered to the TV decoder – hence the difference in the subscription fee of 6 rubles. We also note that the provider applies a monthly, non-monthly payment system, but a 30-day payment system. That is, seven times a year for a month you will pay a little more than indicated in the price list calculated for the 30-day month.
" COSMOS Telecom." The supplier, who for six months has not changed the line of offers at all. The average cost of 1 Mbit / s is slightly higher than that of byfly, but it is far from Velcom.
Unet.by. Previously, there was a rate of 25 Mbps, and now there are two offers, at 20 and 30 Mbps. Based on the cost of a megabit, Ethernet 20 costs a bit more expensive than the previous Ethernet 25. But Ethernet 30, on the contrary, is much cheaper. In addition, this rate seems more profitable than anything. In addition, the charge is offered a trifle so nice, as in the 1.5 times higher speed at night and afternoon (from 2:00 to 18:00).
The way of gold. From 40 to 60 Mbit / s
In this category, the most important changes are in velcom, which is represented by three tariffs.
byfly. In the intermediate segment, the original idea of Beltelecom for half a year increased by 50 cents. Not critical, especially since it is still one of the most interesting options. True, until leadership, and this time, a little was not enough.
velcom. This provider already has three appropriate tariffs – 40, 50 and 60 Mbit / s. And the average is cheaper than the youngest. All because "Internet 50" is not overloaded with additional services like television. Well, he, with TP "Domashniy 60" came out quite competitive. But the price of the "Home 40" rate for us is totally incomprehensible – very expensive.
"COSMOS Telecom". The supplier did not raise prices, so, all things being equal, withfly played a kopeck of Beltelecom's bid with a conversion of each megabit.
Unet.by. Unet has not changed in this category either. This allowed the company to easily retain its leadership, while major competitors have embarked on the price gap.
All at once! We connect 100 Mbit / s
MTS. Here we see the main plot. The MTS company simply took and without exaggeration broke everyone. Here is X5 with 100 Mbps, and that does not seem a little – even a higher speed at night and the mobile tariff "No Limit" for 5 rubles a month more, with unlimited Internet and 400 minutes of calls to all networks. And all this for 25 rubles a month, that is to say, like other suppliers at a speed of half the price! Thus, the average cost of 1 Mbit / s is only 25 kopecks – a record indicator!
The tariff for X6 is the same, but still with the TV and the antivirus. In our opinion, for most users, the supply is excessive, but at a price more than competitive.
byfly, Unet.by, "COSMOS Telecom". Three suppliers for six months have not changed attitudes towards the most "fat" rates. As a result, we have almost identical offers by byfly and Unet.by, and the latter as a bonus promises a doubling of speed at night and in the afternoon. "COSMOS Telecom", the former leader in the speed / price ratio, was pushed back to second place thanks to the MTS.
velcom. The supplier has left the "Home 100" rate, while increasing the subscription fees. As a result, we do not receive the most attractive offer from the price point of view. Can television fans enjoy all three decoders? At the same time, the company has submitted an offer of 80 Mbps. It turned out, however, still expensive.
We emphasize that not only is the price and the reported speed of access to the network important for the user, but also the quality of the services provided. This indicator, alas, is relative and often also of a subjective nature, so that in our comparisons it is not reflected in any way. Nevertheless, one can have an impression of the quality of the work of a particular company in the thematic branches of the Onliner.by forum or after reading the comments on the article.
