Nearly 3,000 people are expected this Thursday in the streets of Namur. The socialist union FGTB organizes a human chain to protest the reform of EPAs, aid to promote employment.

We have already spoken to you about it: it is a reform that could lead, according to the socialist union, to the elimination of several thousand jobs.

Reform to be voted before the end of the year. The text is already the subject of an agreement.

So why this mobilization? "It is obvious that the text is now completed. But we want to say two things. First, we will hold them to the pants in the implementation of this bad reform. And then we will warn: for us, there will be a strong negative influence on a range of services provided to the Walloon population. We mainly think about childcare, out-of-school care, rest homes, socio-cultural sector", explained Thierry Bodson, secretary general of the Walloon FGTB.

Disturbed TECs

The demo takes place between 9h and 13h. It is to be expected some disturbances in the traffic on the streets of Namur. Moreover, the CGSP decided to cover the agents of the TECs who wished to take part in the action. A strike notice had therefore been filed. At the level of disturbances, it is in Charleroi that there are the most problems. We are talking about one bus out of two out of the depots this morning. One metro on two on lines 1 and 3, and 3 trams out of 4 in Charleroi.

The central region, so La Louvière, is also affected. 1 bus out of 2 circulates this morning. Otherwise everywhere else the service is normally, or almost normally.

Only the agents of the TECs affiliated to the CGSP are covered. This morning, some of them decided to participate in this day of action against the EPA reform.
