The trend is confirmed for girls aged 15-19, where it is 4 times higher (0.4%) than for young boys of the same age (0.1%).
The Permanent Secretariat of the National Council for the Fight against AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections (SP / CNLS-IST) through the National AIDS Control Program (PNLS) wants to mark the event this year with a special stamp. This is why the national coordinating and monitoring body for the fight against AIDS communicated Monday, November 26, 2018, the various activities that will fill this day at the national level.
For this 30th edition of the World AIDS Day, it is Tohoun the capital of the prefecture of Middle Mono (Plateaux region) that will host the festivities. According to the National Coordinator of the CNLS-IST, Vincent PITCHE, this day in Togo will give rise to the keynote speech of Togo's HIV response and will allow the country to take stock of the epidemiological situation, the progress made and the progress made. to present the international context of the fight against AIDS. "World AIDS Day is an opportunity to commemorate those who have pbaded away and to raise awareness about the danger of AIDS and the HIV pandemic. This celebration renews the individual and collective commitment to solidarity with people living with HIV, "he suggested.
"Know your status" is the theme of this 30th edition of the World Day Against HIV / AIDS. It will give the authorities in charge of the fight against this pandemic the opportunity to stress the importance and gravity of AIDS. The number of people living with HIV (PLWHA) in Togo is 105,000. Of these, the CNLS-IST says, 69,466 are enrolled in treatment facilities and 59,752 PLWHA (adults, adolescents and children) are on anti-retroviral (ARV) treatment.
