The Ministry of Health of the Democratic Republic of Congo announced Monday, a new clinical trial for the treatment of Ebola.
This is the first-ever drug trial for Ebola treatment.
According to the World Health Organization, the aim is to evaluate the "efficacy and safety of the drugs used".
The current trial is being conducted by the National Institute for Biomedical Research of the DRC and coordinated by theWHO, with other partners.
The DRC has already experienced two Ebola outbreaks this year. The first reported in April in the northwestern province of Ecuador was contained after nearly 30 deaths out of 54 cases. The second, which is under way in Ituri in the east, has already killed more than 200 people since August.
