The sweets are very good and seasonal, but you should consume them in moderation

In the playground, I prepared a surprise: a table filled with sweets.

At recess, the children rushed on the gold, and after tasting, they made their choice. They prefer cherry candies, Coke, Napoleon, and sour candies.

With my four winning packages, I went to Blegny, Vinciane Goessens, dietician. Vinciane drew our attention to the basic ingredient of candy: sugar!

Candy is 94% sugar

In the diet of a child, there are already many products that contain added sugar, and so with sweets, it exceeds very quickly the recommended doses. Not to exceed 10% added sugar in our daily energy intake, this is the WHO recommendation.

"Excess sugar turns into fat, risk of obesity and diabetes"says Vinciane Goessens dietician. Candy is sugar, but also dyes.

Again Vinciane Goessens draws our attention to the presence of titanium dioxide, carmine, curcumin, and brilliant blue FCFbleu, products potentially harmful to health. Of course the doses are respected, but there is always the risk of badtail effect in our diet.

Examples: E102, proven effect of hyperactivity in children, intense allergen and possible carcinogen. E171 can be carcinogenic to humans. E133 suspected of causing hyperactivity in children. (Source: food additives)

The opinion of the dentist

With my sweets, I also went to a general dentist who told me very clearly: "that there are no good sweets!". We must manage the way in which we consume these products. At the heart of the problem: sugar. The sugar feeds the bacteria, the nourished bacteria produce acid, the acid destroys the teeth.

Sweets, do not eat them for a long time, for our expert teeth "do not confuse quantity and frequency, someone who will eat a large quantity in a very short time will have no problem, if this person has good dental hygiene. But someone who is going to eat ten sweets and spreads his consumption over the day, then bathes in permanent acidity, and that's a problem. During eight to ten hours, it will have acidity in the mouth, catastrophic for the teeth!"concludes the dentist expert.

For our dietician and our dentist, we must aim for moderate consumption, enjoy ourselves from time to time, and certainly not eat sweets daily.
