How many "yellow vests" will be counted on this Friday in the streets of Brussels? And where will they gather? Hard to say. A demonstration originally planned and authorized by the police of the capital, which was to leave the Cinquantenaire at 1 pm towards the rue de la Loi, had been postponed. In question, the impossibility of constituting the order service required by the authorities (a steward for 50 protesters).

But the determination of "yellow vests" to ride on Brussels seems intact, even without an organized event. On social networks, the mobilization continues. Many announce that they will go to the streets of the capital to express pell-mell, their run-down against rising prices for fuels, electricity, heating and lower purchasing power, that they live cruelly.

Two parallel worlds

In this unprecedented social movement, with no real structure, no leader and no spokesperson, what brings the members together is a feeling of abandonment at the very bottom of the social ladder. Those who define themselves as "the people's voice" no longer have anything in common with other strata of society. The fracture is total, and the gaping gulf. As if there were now two parallel worlds, the one from above and the one from below – theirs – without any further communication. Two seemingly irreconcilable worlds. Politicians, elected officials? Elites! Trade unions ? Accomplices! The media? Sold! Corrupted! Faced with everything that appears to be part of the "system", distrust is in order. And mistrust, total.

At La Librewe tried to understand who were the members of the "yellow vests". Many did not want to answer, expressing their refusal in sometimes violent terms. "Shit media, go!", "It is the people who speak to the people: we have nothing to say to the merdias", "It's better not to collaborate with elite collaborators. " Some have accepted, on their own behalf, to express themselves. Their words testify to a deep disarray, coupled with a dull rage. And the feeling of being denied and despised by the policies and the system.
