One-half of American adults are trying to lose weight, according to a new major public health survey released on Thursday, as the United States is hit by an obsessional epidemic
40% of the American population was killed obse estimates in 2015-2016, a proportion that rises more than 70% if we include overweight people.
The figures of this new survey published by the Centers for Control and Prevention of Diseases show that the weight is a concern widely shared in the United States.
49% of those over 20 said they had tried to lose weight in the last 12 months, including 42% of men and 56% of women.
Almost six women in ten, in the age group 40-59, say they are trying to lose weight.
On average, the more people are comfortable, the more they worry about their weight.
The survey shows that these attempts are not not limited to people who are obese or overweight. One-quarter of those with normal or less than normal weight, and one-third among women, reported having also sought to lose weight.
