The City of Brussels on Thursday awarded the positions of mayor, aldermen and president of the CPAS, which have increased from eleven to twelve.
Philippe Close (PS) remains burgomaster of the City of Brussels. The Ecolo-Groen
Benoît Hellings becomes first alderman and has the competence of Climate and Sports. The other Ecoloc-Groen aldermen share the Early Childhood, the Citizen Participation and the Urban Renovation (for
Arnaud Pinxteren), Green Spaces and Public Cleanliness (for
Zoubida Jellab) and Mobility and Public Works (for
Bart Dhont).
Karine Lalieux (PS) becomes president of the CPAS. Always on the side of the Socialist Party, Faouzia Hariche obtains Public Instruction, Youth and Human Resources. Culture, Tourism and Major Events will be managed by Delphine Houba. Mohamed Ouriaghli becomes alderman of Housing, Public Heritage and Equal Opportunities. Ahmed El Ktibi takes over the competence of the civil status, the population and international solidarity. He therefore gives up his position as president of the CPAS to Karine Lalieux.
Ans Persoons (sp.a) will take care, as already announced previously in our editions, of the Urbanism, the Flemish Education and Dutch-speaking Affairs. Remember that Ans Persoons had submitted his resignation to the Brussels College in 2017 and reinstated him in this majority.
Fabian Maingain (Challenge) will be responsible for Economic Affairs, Employment, Smart City and Administrative Simplification.
