A measles epidemic has been evolving in France since November 2017. Many people, including young adults, have not been up to date with measles vaccination (two doses are recommended for anyone born since 1980). ). Thus, there is a strong demand for trivalent measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccines. Two MMR vaccines are available: the M-M-RVaxPro vaccine (MSD Vaccines) and the Priorix vaccine (GlaxoSmithKline: GSK). In this context, the GSK Laboratory announced in a letter to pharmacists the provision of doses of a specialty identical to Priorix originally intended for the Italian market. However, these doses are reserved for communities: health institutions, maternal and child health centers (PMI) and vaccination centers. Their distribution began on June 25, 2018 and can continue until July 2019.

Unlike the French single-dose syringe, the "Italian" Priorix vaccine is packaged in boxes of 10 doses. The labeling of the bottle and box is in Italian, but a counter-label in French will be affixed for each case informing the characteristics of the imported specialty (composition, number of doses and storage conditions). In addition, a record in French will be included for each dose (10 records per box) in addition to the record written in Italian.
