Mogi Bayat and Laurent Denis released under conditions

As part of the Footgate, the investigating judge decided to conditionally release the players' agent Mogi Bayatagainst a deposit of 150,000 euros. The investigating judge did not wait for the Council chamber scheduled for Tongeren on Friday. The player's agent has already paid the deposit and should leave the prison of Louvain this Tuesday evening or tomorrow morning. Mogi Bayat remains charged with money laundering and involvement in a criminal organization. He had been detained since October 10th.

The former lawyer Laurent Denis will also be released under conditions against a deposit of 20,000 euros. He is pleased to be able to defend himself close to his family and insists he wants to collaborate with the investigation according to his lawyer. For its part, Thierry Steemans will also be released under conditions against 10,000 euros bail.

"The judge has decided to release them under conditions, including that of paying a deposit", confirmed the spokesman of the federal prosecutor's office.

Me Tom Bauwens, who represents Mogi Bayat, confirms that his client has paid a deposit of 150,000 euros. "He has been released under certain conditions and appearances before the council chamber no longer matter. He has to respect the clbadic conditions like to remain at the disposal of the investigators and not to leave the country."

It is not clear if Thierry Steemans will do the same. If he does not do so, he will have to appear before the Tongeren board chamber on Friday.
