Molenbeek: Violent burglary in two elderly people

On leaving the homes of their victims, the three suspects ripped a neighbor's chain and beat him severely.

On 7 October, around 8:30 pm, a patrol of the Brussels-West police zone was called for a violent robbery in Molenbeek. Three individuals entered a house and stole jewelry.

The occupants of the house, two elderly people, were at home at the time and were physically badaulted by the suspects. The state of health of the two victims who were in shock did not require hospitalization.

On leaving the house, the suspects found themselves facing a neighbor who was stopped by the door which was open. One of the suspects managed to snatch the chain from his neck, before kicking him several times while he was on the ground. The three thugs then fled on foot to Beekkant Metro Station.

The thorough investigation led to the identification and arrest of three suspects. All three were made available to the Brussels public prosecutor. Two of them were placed under arrest warrant by the investigating judge. The third was released under conditions. They are charged with theft with violence, in gang, towards vulnerable people.
