Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe is the new leader of the Tour de San Juan cycling (2.1).

Belgian team leader Deceuninck-Quick Step won the third stage, a 12km individual time trial on Tuesday in Pocito, Argentina. He was 12 seconds ahead of Italy's Valerio Conti (UAE-Team Emirates). Belgium's great prospect Remco Evenepoel, a team-mate from Alaphilippe, made a magnificent performance. He took the 3rd place at the same time as Conti and is 4th overall at 22 seconds (at the same time as Conti 3rd), for his first professional race at 19 years old. Colombian Fernando Gaviria (UAE-Team Emirates), 6th in the 21-second stage, gives up the leader's jersey and is second at 18 seconds.

The 4th stage of this 37th edition, will link Wednesday San Jose Jachal-Valle Fértil to Villa San Agustin on a 185.8 km long hilly course with three pbades including two of the 1st category, however located a good distance from the finish.

The competition ends Saturday at the end of the 7th stage played in San Juan.
