some drugs will cost more in January 2019

As of next January, the price of some drugs will increase. At issue: "dispensing fees", which pharmacists perceive to compensate for the decline in their margins since the price of reimbursed medicines has fallen. Until then, patients did not contribute to these fees, paid by the Health Insurance and complementary health.

Indeed, for each box of medicines purchased, pharmacists currently receive € 1.02. Of this amount, 65% is reimbursed by the Health Insurance and the rest by the complementary. But things will change in January 2019: the dispensing fee will vary by drug and may be revised upwards. Patients will have to pay the difference.

A new dependent remains

From 2019, the French will have to pay more to obtain certain medicines. A statement confirmed by Philippe Gaertner, president of the FSPF (Federation of pharmaceutical unions of France) in Paris: "The Health Insurance has confirmed it to us […] : if their contracts do not provide for reimbursement of drugs at 15% or 30%, the complementary health will not participate in the fees of the pharmacist ».

Among the drugs concerned, the Parisien cite some sleeping pills, such as Stilnox, cough syrup or Spasfon. The exact list of remedies concerned has not yet been officially communicated.
