A hundred or so students gathered Tuesday on the University Square, Louvain-la-Neuve, for a symbolic action on the importance of tackling climate issues without delay.

A hundred or so students from Louvain-la-Neuve took part in a symbolic action on the Place de l'Université on Tuesday: it was a prelude to the "Claim the Climate" march organized in Brussels on Sunday 2 December, and for which students organize a group departure by train, from the university campus.

On Tuesday, they have already mobilized through the AGL, kots active projects in sustainable development and ecological transition, Comac and EcoloJeunes.

"Cooling up the heat", "There is no Planet B", "The clock is spinning", clamoring the banners brandished by the participants. Some had also chosen the offbeat humor, not hesitating to brandish a "You're good without carbon" whose history does not say what the participants thought in the action taken a few days ago against gender discrimination…

After having sung together other slogans announcing for example that the participants were warmer than the climate, the demonstrators sounded their alarm clock together, at the stroke of 1:15 pm. It was about getting the message out to the politicians, to wake them up on climate issues and urge them to take strong action.

The students themselves are already well awake and demanding change as well as courageous decisions. Representatives of the AGL have also explained that they are currently discussing in the organs of the University for UCLouvain to sort through its banking investments, in order to eliminate shareholdings of the most polluting companies in the world .
