TheWalloon Agency for the Promotion of Quality Agriculture (Apaq-W) presented Thursday in Wavre the eighth "Frite Week", which will take place everywhere in Wallonia from 3 to 9 December. This is to highlight the work of professionals who use fresh Walloon potatoes to prepare their fries. For the occasion singer Marka composed a hymn entitled "We want golden fries and well cooked", and surrounded himself with a group called "pbadion potato" to sing it. We have Kody, Sarah Grosjean, Freddy Tougaux, Fred Janin, Stefan Liberski, Gilles Dal and Laurence Bibot.
Two versions, one in rap and one more ska, will be the hymns of this Frite Week (www.semainedelafrite.be) in Wallonia. This operation of the Apaq-W is the subject of a collaboration with the National Union of Friturists, and the Federation Horeca Wallonia. It aims to highlight 140 establishments enrolled in this promotional campaign and meeting the criteria "Friterie home".
These criteria, aimed at defending the quality of the products sold, include mainly selling french fries (at least 75% of the dishes), preparing these fries from fresh potatoes from Wallonia, packaging them in cones or cardboard trays, and offer them to eat on the spot or take away.
