The Harry Potter augmented reality game release: Wizard Unite is coming

Niantic, the studio behind Pokémon Go, will release its new game on June 21st. But Harry Potter: Wizard Unite will be reserved for American and English players at first.

Announced in November 2017, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite takes the basic principle of Pokemon Go and will send players on the streets looking for spells, mysterious artifacts, snitch and fantastic animals. The game, repeatedly postponed (its release was originally planned for 2018), is based on augmented reality, this technology that inserts virtual elements into reality.

But the similarities with Pokemon Go stop there. In Harry Potter: Wizard Unite, it will not capture cute monsters, but rather use the smartphone's camera to reveal all the secrets of the neighborhood. With the help of powers collected in the city, the player will also have to defend his territory. The phone will become a magic wand. Niantic will use its huge database of places and monuments around the world to place secrets, spells, and any useful bonuses to the game that would drive players out of their homes and explore.
