The epidemic of influenza is increasing with already six serious cases that have been recorded and three people have died according to the latest epidemiological health bulletin.

It is clear that the indicators of influenza are increasing over the past two weeks, revealing a start of the epidemic in Guadeloupe, Saint-Martin and Saint-Barthélemy. Since 1 November, six serious cases have been reported by the medical services, including four in January. Three of them died and none was vaccinated.
Increase in influenza cases
The influenza virus identified in the city and in the hospital, is mainly of type A. The number of influenza syndromes seen in city medicine increases and exceeds the seasonal threshold, 280 and 350 estimated cases. The number of emergency room visits for ILI has stabilized in recent weeks with five to eight pbadages recorded weekly. Of these 21 pbadages, two were followed by hospitalization.
