NASA announced Wednesday that the SpaceX rocket test – empty – designed to carry astronauts later this year was postponed until March 2 in Cape Canaveral, Florida.
The US Space Agency and Space Boeing have been given responsibility for the transportation of their astronauts starting this year.
SpaceX uses its rocket Falcon 9, very lapped, at the top of which a Dragon capsule specially designed to accommodate astronauts is fixed. This capsule should take astronauts to the International Space Station.
Before launching with humans aboard, SpaceX must perform a no-load mission. This was originally scheduled for early January and the date of March 2 is not fixed in the marble, any technical adjustment may still postpone the test.
If all goes well, the first manned flight is scheduled for July 2019.
On Boeing's side, the empty test will not take place until April, with a manned mission starting in August.
