"Yellow vests" in Mons: the home of Di Rupo referred, 38 administrative arrests

A hundred "yellow vests" wandered the streets of Mons this Saturday afternoon.

They were a hundred "yellow vests" to have rendezvous on the stroke of 14:30 at the foot of the collegiate Sainte-Waudru. The procession then took the direction of downtown. For nearly three hours, the "yellow vests" braved the rain and the paved mountains to carry out their action of visibility.

The movement was at that moment quite pacifist except multiple firecrackers. Including one in the mailbox of the house of PS President Elio Di Rupo. An unconscious, let's call it that, has introduced the pyrotechnic object through the slit of the door of the building. A big bang followed, which probably caused damage to the interior of the house.

The procession then resumed its way in a rather disorganized way and without having established a real course previously. The police had not received any request for permission to demonstrate. Some members of the group, apparently more aggressive than others, then announced their willingness to go as far as the confrontation with the police.

That's what happened after dark, shortly after 18 hours. A fringe of "yellow vests" first chose to disunite and then thirty people went into the ring to block traffic. The police inevitably had to intervene with the pumper truck and the support of the federal police. Finally, no less than 38 people were arrested administratively.

Note that most of the "yellow vests" present absolutely have not endorsed the action of some of their group. They also regretted that these people scratch the image of the movement.
