The Israeli spacecraft Beresheet is expected to escape the gravitational pull of the Earth Thursday afternoon thanks to a maneuver that will hopefully allow it to reach the moon. If that fails, he would be trapped in the gravitational pull of the Sun and eventually melt near the sun.
A successful capture will mean that the spaceship will first encircle the Moon in an elliptical path. The plan is to use other maneuvers to slow down his speed in order to change course to circular.
The circles are expected to get closer and closer to the moon's surface until the last landing on April 11th.
Before the date, the Israel Space Agency had planned about twenty international events that would be open to the public free of charge.
