A 13-member research committee chaired by the associate vice-president for finance and administration Tom LeMarbe reviewed the qualifications and experience of over 30 applicants and narrowed the search down to an area of four highly qualified finalists. Chief of Staff Joshua Merchant chose to offer the job to Koneru.

In Ferris State, Koneru oversees the university’s information technology strategies and computer systems to ensure they support strategic goals; student success, teaching excellence and operational efficiency.
She also leads the IT organization of more than 100 University members, which is responsible for providing a robust and secure IT environment, reliable infrastructure and viable business applications.
