Biden administrator still has not issued travel guidelines for those vaccinated

The Biden administration has yet to release travel guidelines for people who have received their COVID vaccine.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced new health guidelines for those vaccinated on Monday but made no mention of travel.

The new guidelines, which were due to be released last week, originally included travel guidelines, but senior health officials have decided to postpone their publication, according to Politico.

A senior administration official said on the way out that a Department of Health and Human Services official said this increasingly looked like guidance from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CDC) will not happen within the time frames that we have identified.

The unchanged travel recommendations discourage unnecessary travel and calls for testing within days of travel. This can seem confusing to people with vaccines hoping to visit family across the country or abroad.

Dr Ali Khan, dean of the University of Nebraska College of Public Health, said the CDC should “relax travel for vaccinated people” and publish electronic standards for documents indicating whether a person is fully vaccinated.
